MY APPROACH
I believe in a client-centered approach, which means I prioritize your individual experiences, emotions, and aspirations. This creates a safe and non-judgmental space for our work together. Overall, my counseling style is eclectic, drawing from various evidence-based techniques to create a personalized and effective therapeutic experience tailored to your unique needs and goals.
I incorporate techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to enhance emotional regulation, interpersonal skills, and distress tolerance. Additionally, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which addresses trauma and distressing memories, aiming to promote healing and resolution. These combined approaches are tailored to empower you on your path towards well-being.
With a 500-hour yoga teacher certification and over a decade of experience teaching in yoga studios, I bring a yoga-inspired approach to therapy. Much like on the mat, I focus on connection, adjustments, and infuse mindfulness and intention into the therapeutic process. While we may not always have control over external circumstances, we can find our center amidst the tempest of life's challenges.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is a fundamental aspect of counseling that ensures your privacy and trust are safeguarded. As your counselor, I am bound by strict ethical guidelines and legal obligations to keep our sessions completely confidential. This means that the content of our discussions will not be disclosed to anyone without your explicit consent, except in rare circumstances where there may be a risk of harm to yourself or others. Rest assured, your openness and honesty are valued, and creating a secure space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions is a top priority.
Online Therapy
Online therapy offers a range of benefits, providing a secure and confidential platform for individuals to receive professional support from the comfort of their own environment. Through encrypted communication channels, your privacy is prioritized, ensuring that sessions remain confidential. This approach has proven to be just as effective as in-person therapy, offering convenience and flexibility in scheduling, making it an accessible and practical option for many. Additionally, online therapy allows individuals to connect with therapists who may not be geographically accessible, expanding the pool of available resources and expertise.
